ART BEAT MIAMI and the Little Haiti Optimist Club will unveil the 2026 Haitian Heritage Month commemorative poster and magazine during a cultural celebration set for May 24 in Miami.
The event, titled 2026 ART BEAT MIAMI Haitian Heritage Month Kick-off to Goal!, will run from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. It is being staged as a tribute to Haitian heritage, artistic expression and the country’s global sporting legacy.
Organizers said this year’s celebration will spotlight the historic 1974 Haiti national football team, the country’s first World Cup squad, which remains a source of national pride and international recognition. Members of that team are expected to attend as honored guests.
The program will be hosted by media personality Carel Pedre of Chokarella and will feature live performances by the Ambiance Creole Jazz Band, performer Sheila B, and the NSL Dance Ensemble, alongside music from DJ Mack.
The afternoon will also include live painting, cultural showcases, interactive activities, and the official unveiling of the commemorative poster and magazine. Food and beverages will be provided by Chefs of the Caribbean and Caleb Café & Grill.
Organizers said the initiative is designed to blend art, storytelling and sport into a single cultural experience, highlighting Haiti’s continued influence on the global stage, particularly through football.
“This event is more than a celebration, it is a tribute to Haitian excellence, resilience, and global influence through sports, arts, and culture,” said Marie Louissaint, producer of ART BEAT MIAMI. “As Miami becomes an international hub for fútbol this summer, we are proud to honor Haiti’s legacy and inspire future generations through this unique cultural experience.”
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP via Eventbrite.
