Portmore, Jamaica, has welcomed a new dining and entertainment destination with the opening of D’Ferrano Restaurant & Lounge at Big Buy Plaza.
The restaurant officially opened its doors last Wednesday during an exclusive launch celebration attended by corporate partners, content creators, Portmore residents and figures from Jamaica’s food and beverage industry.
Owned by co-managing partners Lambert Fearon and Justin Fearon and led by General Manager Andre Miller, D’Ferrano combines dining, wine and spirits, live entertainment and social spaces under one roof.
The venue includes a wine lounge, sports bar, entertainment area and rooftop open-air terrace, offering settings for everything from business lunches and intimate dinners to sporting events, cocktails and evening gatherings.
During the opening, Justin Fearon said the partners wanted to create more than a traditional restaurant.
“We wanted to build a destination where people can come together to enjoy exceptional food, premium beverages, quality entertainment, and genuine hospitality,” he said. “Portmore deserves experiences of this calibre, and we’re proud to contribute to the city’s continued growth.”
A major component of the venue is its wine, spirits and cocktail programme, which the owners said was developed to complement the restaurant’s food menu while introducing guests to a broader selection of premium beverages.
For Lambert Fearon, the venture also represents an opportunity to contribute to Portmore’s economic and social development.
“I’ve been fortunate to build businesses across several industries — from real estate to wholesale and distribution — but hospitality has always been a genuine passion of mine because it’s ultimately about people,” he said.
Fearon said the partners hope the business will create employment opportunities, support the local economy and provide a space where residents and visitors can gather.
“If D’Ferrano can positively impact the community while raising the standard of what’s possible in Portmore, then we’ve achieved exactly what we set out to do,” he said.
The launch event gave invited guests an opportunity to sample the restaurant’s menu, cocktails and wine selections while experiencing the different spaces within the venue.
The opening comes as Portmore continues to expand as a major residential and commercial centre, with the owners positioning D’Ferrano as part of the city’s growing hospitality and entertainment sector.
The restaurant is located at Big Buy Plaza and offers dining, a wine lounge, sports bar, entertainment space and rooftop terrace.
D’Ferrano is owned by Lambert Fearon and Justin Fearon and managed by Andre Miller.
