VM Group will host the second installment of its Yaad & Beyond financial engagement series in the Washington, DC, region on Oct. 31, targeting Jamaicans and friends of Jamaica with discussions on homeownership, investing and wealth creation.
The event, dubbed Yaad & Beyond: The VM Group Financial Link Up – DMV Edition, will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Silver Spring, Maryland, with support from the Embassy of Jamaica in Washington, DC.
The event follows the series' inaugural Financial Link Up in Georgia and forms part of VM Group's efforts to strengthen its relationships with Jamaican diaspora communities in the United States.
The interactive session is expected to bring together professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners, community leaders, prospective homeowners and investors to discuss financial opportunities and strategies for building long-term wealth.
Courtney Campbell, VM Group's group president and CEO, said the initiative provides a platform for discussions on financial goals while connecting diaspora communities with the company's expertise and services.
“Yaad & Beyond creates a space for authentic conversations around homeownership, investing, entrepreneurship, and wealth creation, while providing access to the expertise and solutions that can help individuals and families achieve their aspirations,” Campbell said.
He added that the group's focus remains on supporting members and clients at different stages of their financial journeys as it expands its presence in key diaspora markets.
The event will feature presentations and panel discussions led by VM Group executives and specialists, including Leighton Smith, group chief diaspora markets officer; Michael Howard, CEO of VM Property Services; Dr. Karrian Hepburn Malcolm, vice president of wealth distribution and revenue strategy at VM Wealth Management; and Kaysia Vaughan, group chief customer and brand officer.
Discussions will focus on real estate and homeownership, wealth building and investing, and entrepreneurship and business growth.
Smith said the event is intended to give Jamaicans in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) region greater access to financial information and professional guidance.
“Through our Yaad & Beyond initiative, we are bringing our financial specialists closer to the diaspora, creating opportunities for meaningful conversations, practical financial guidance, and informed decisions that support long-term financial security and generational wealth creation,” Smith said.
VM Group said the initiative reflects its commitment, alongside the Jamaican Embassy in Washington, DC, to engaging diaspora communities and connecting them with financial services and opportunities in Jamaica and the United States.
Registration for the Oct. 31 event is available at CaribTix.
