Approximately 627 individuals received free cataract surgeries at the Mandeville Regional Hospital in Manchester, Jamaica from May 25 to 27.
This initiative, part of the Cataract Camp Mission 2024, was driven by the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA) and showcased the power of community and expertise coming together.

Under the leadership of Dr. Nitin Shah, an anesthesiologist, and the local coordination by Dr. Gavin Henry, Consultant Ophthalmologist at the hospital, this mission marked its eighth successful iteration.
Since its inception, the initiative has significantly impacted over 15,592 individuals through surgeries, vision screenings, distribution of free eyeglasses, and haemoglobin tests, indicating a sustained commitment to improving health outcomes.
