The ACR’s gold seal of accreditation is a national distinction awarded only to facilities that meet rigorous standards following a comprehensive peer-reviewed evaluation. The process includes an in-depth review by board-certified physicians and medical physicists, assessing image quality, staff qualifications, equipment adequacy, and adherence to quality control and assurance protocols.

“Earning ACR accreditation is a significant achievement for our radiology department,” said Kristen Bowman, Chief Executive Officer of Broward Health Coral Springs. “We are very proud to receive this national designation that recognizes our commitment to delivering exceptional breast imaging care for our patients.”

Breast ultrasound is a non-invasive, real-time imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce detailed images of breast tissue. It plays a crucial role in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, particularly in women with dense breast tissue or in cases where further evaluation is needed beyond mammography.

“When it comes to breast health, early detection can save lives,” Bowman added. “Breast ultrasound is a powerful tool that allows doctors to examine breast tissue in real time and with enhanced clarity.”

This accreditation further strengthens Broward Health’s standing as a trusted provider of advanced imaging services in South Florida.
