Nassau Cruise Port has recorded its highest-ever single-day passenger count, welcoming 33,254 cruise guests on June 8, 2026, in a milestone for the country’s tourism sector.

The figure pushes past the 33,000-passenger mark and surpasses the previous record of 30,538 set on March 11, 2025, representing an increase of 2,716 passengers, or about 8.9%.

The record day was driven by the simultaneous arrival of six cruise ships — Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, Caribbean Princess, and Disney Fantasy — highlighting strong multi-line cruise activity and continued demand for Nassau as a destination.

The achievement was described by Nassau Cruise Port CEO and Director Mike Maura Jr. as a reflection of the port’s growing capacity and the strength of its partnerships across the tourism industry.

“The 33,000-passenger mark was an important benchmark for us, and reaching 33,254 guests in a single day reflects the strength of Nassau as a cruise destination, the confidence of our cruise line partners, and the dedication of the teams and stakeholders who support the visitor experience here,” he said.

He added that the milestone extends beyond passenger volume, pointing to wider economic benefits across the tourism value chain.

“This milestone is not only about volume. It represents economic opportunity across the destination,” Maura said. “High-performing cruise days support retailers, restaurants, tour operators, transportation providers, attractions, artisans, entertainers, and a wide range of other Bahamian businesses.”

The performance comes as Nassau Cruise Port has been nominated for Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Port 2026 in the World Travel Awards, adding to its earlier recognition in the category in 2008.

The port has attributed its growth to ongoing investment in infrastructure, improved operational efficiency, enhanced guest amenities, and better connectivity to downtown Nassau.

Officials say the record underscores Nassau’s position as one of the region’s busiest cruise hubs, while reinforcing efforts to ensure tourism growth translates into broader economic participation for local businesses and workers.
