The minister held separate discussions with officials from Ghana and Kenya as part of Antigua and Barbuda’s diplomatic outreach in support of Maria Espinosa’s candidacy for United Nations secretary-general.
Greene introduced Espinosa to Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Ablakwa and Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi during the meetings.
He also met Singapore’s Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan to discuss Antigua and Barbuda’s foreign policy priorities and introduce Espinosa’s candidacy.
In another bilateral engagement, Greene joined Prime Minister Gaston Browne for talks with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The discussions focused on trade and economic opportunities between Antigua and Barbuda and the United Arab Emirates.
The visa waiver agreement with Azerbaijan marks a new development in Antigua and Barbuda’s bilateral relations with the country and expands visa-free travel arrangements available to eligible citizens of the two nations.
