As of May 21, Trinidad and Tobago reported a 100% recovery of all its active coronavirus patients.
The Ministry of Health in Trinidad and Tobago confirmed that the final patient who was being treated for the disease was discharged from Caura Hospital yesterday.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Trinidad and Tobago is 116. Of these cases, 108 people have recovered from the disease and been discharged, while eight people have died.
As of Thursday night, the number of samples submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and UWI site for testing for COVID-19 remains at 2,805.
Trinidad joins other Caribbean islands like St. Lucia, Belize, Anguilla and Suriname where there are no active COVID-19 cases.
