Antigua inks MOU with Chinese hospital for cancer vaccine

Antigua and Barbuda’s health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph has revealed the potential for the Caribbean nation to take a leading role in cancer prevention through a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with a hospital in China.

The partnership, which holds immense promise for the region, could position Antigua and Barbuda as the first Caribbean country to offer a cutting-edge cancer prevention vaccine.

The MOU: A gateway to pioneering cancer prevention

Accompanying Prime Minister Gaston Browne as part of the Antigua and Barbuda delegation, Sir Molwyn shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration upon his return to the country. 

He conveyed the possibility that this groundbreaking cancer prevention vaccine could become a reality within a mere two years.

Exploring Chinese advances in healthcare

During their visit to China, Sir Molwyn and the delegation had the opportunity to delve into the realms of Chinese healthcare, particularly in the context of advanced science and technology. 

Their observations revealed an arsenal against diseases that have been plaguing the lives of Antiguans and Barbudans, such as diabetes.

A glimpse into the future of disease diagnosis

The delegation’s visit to a Chinese hospital unveiled a revolutionary piece of equipment that caught Sir Molwyn’s attention. 

This technology not only diagnosed patients at the late stages of diseases but also possessed the capability to forecast diseases in advance, offering a glimpse into the future of disease diagnosis.
