Tensions in the U.S. have surged due to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
This comes to the fore, especially after a former Hamas leader designated Friday as a global “day of rage.”

Schools and institutions ramp up vigilance
Various entities are adopting a proactive stance in response.
Reports are that law enforcement agencies and school districts across South Florida have bolstered their security measures.
It is reported that Broward County Schools have reached out to parents to apprise them of the situation. Miami-Dade Schools, on the other hand, are urging both parents and students to exercise caution.
Meanwhile, Miami-Dade Mayor, Daniella Levine Cava, highlighted via social media that there will be an augmented police presence, especially surrounding synagogues, mosques, Jewish community centers, and schools.
Miami Beach Police Department has also decided to amplify its uniformed presence throughout the city.
Community responses and upcoming protests
There have been a series of rallies across South Florida, with a majority of them expressing support for Israel.
However, Bayfront Park on Biscayne Boulevard is set to host a protest for Palestine on Friday.
The organizers are anticipating counter-protesters and have communicated their plans to the police.
