According to Broward County Public Schools, the nearly $2.47 million allocation is the largest amount awarded to a school district’s technical colleges through the state program.
The funding comes as Broward’s technical colleges continue to post strong results in preparing licensed practical nurses.
During the 2024-25 school year, Atlantic Technical College had 81 licensed practical nursing graduates and recorded a 98.63% NCLEX pass rate, exceeding both the Florida average of 84.9% and the national average of 91.16%. The school earned more PIPELINE funding than any other technical college in the state, according to BCPS.
McFatter Technical College had 50 LPN graduates and achieved a 95.56% NCLEX pass rate, also surpassing the state and national averages.
Sheridan Technical College, meanwhile, had 79 LPN graduates and recorded an 84.85% NCLEX pass rate.
“Nursing education is a top priority in Broward County and strategic investments from the state, like the PIPELINE program, support the next generation of nurses by expanding opportunities and delivering high-quality educational programs,” BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn said.
The PIPELINE program is designed to provide funding to institutions based on their performance in nursing education, helping Florida expand its pipeline of qualified nurses and address workforce needs.
Neeta Rancourt, director of Atlantic Technical College, said the results reflect the work of students, faculty, staff and industry partners.
