A 52-year-old Canadian man was found unresponsive in the waters near Rum Point, North Side, as reported by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) on November 10.
Reports are that the man was enjoying a swim near a vessel when his bystanders in the vicinity noticed he was unresponsive.
He was taken to the vessel and CPR was administered.
Emergency services mobilized
The 9-1-1 Communications Center also dispatched emergency services.
Reports are that after the vessel arrived at the nearest dock, the man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Water-related incidents in Cayman
Cayman has recorded several water-related deaths this year, having one of the highest drowning statistics in the region.
