Canadian delegation to arrive in Guyana to foster closer relations

A four-member parliamentary delegation from Canada is set to arrive in Guyana today. The purpose of their visit is to enhance and solidify the ties between the two nations, fostering a more collaborative relationship.

Over the course of their five-day visit, the Canadian delegation will engage in crucial discussions with key figures in Guyana’s political landscape. 

Bridging nations and priorities

The Canadian representatives are scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Mark Phillips, Speaker of the National Assembly Manzoor Nadir, and Opposition Leader Aubrey Norton, along with several other prominent parliamentarians. 

Topics to be discussed

Among the things to be discussed are climate change, oil and gas opportunities, indigenous peoples, and a paperless parliament.
