T&T police probe death of pregnant Mayaro woman

Police in Trinidad and Tobago are probing the death of a 29-year-old pregnant mother, who was battered to death by a mentally ill person on Monday night in the community of Mayaro.

Police said that Stacy-Ann Campbell, a mother of four children, who was eight months pregnant had gone to visit a neighbor when the man, who has since been detained by police, grabbed her as she was about to leave the house.

The suspect is reported to have picked up a red clay block hit her in the face repeatedly, killing Ann-Campbell on the scene.

Neighbors are reported to have subdued the suspect and handed him over to police.
