Ransomware attack forces temporary closure of NIBTT offices

The National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago (NIBTT) announced the temporary closure of all its offices from Wednesday to Friday (December 27-29).

The move comes in response to a ransomware attack that struck the organization on Tuesday.

It reported that all steps are being taken to protect its data integrity and technology hardware.

Collaborative efforts with technology partners

NIBTT also said it is actively collaborating with its external technology partners. Together, they are working to expedite the resolution process.

NIBTT has also taken the responsible step of reporting the ransomware attack to the Trinidad and Tobago Cyber Security Incident Response Team, operating under the Ministry of National Security.
