“Sounds of the Caribbean,” presented by radio veteran and community advocate Keith “Papa Keith” Walcott, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Oliver Gilbert III, and City of Miami Gardens Vice Mayor Robert Stephens, will take place on Saturday, June 28, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Carol City Park in Miami Gardens.

The free, family-friendly event promises a lively mix of Caribbean rhythms, flavorful island cuisine, and vibrant cultural expression. Attendees can expect a DJ lineup representing Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, and the Bahamas, plus performances by international artists including Konshens, Pressure Buss Pipe, Tifa, Sizwe C, and more. Hosting the celebration is none other than Caribbean comedy icon Majah Hype.

Sounds of the Caribbean

“Caribbean music and sound system culture have always been the heartbeat of our communities—from block parties to global stages,” said Walcott. “Sounds of the Caribbean is a celebration of that rhythm and resilience—honoring the DJs and selectors who have preserved, promoted, and pushed our music into the world.”

In addition to the music, the event will feature Caribbean food trucks, a Kids Zone, and a festive atmosphere designed to highlight the contributions of Caribbean Americans to Miami-Dade County and beyond. The theme underscores that Caribbean American Heritage Month is not just about history—it’s about community, culture, and continuity.
