The news was shared by his older brother, reggae star Tarrus Riley, on Instagram Tuesday. Tarrus expressed his grief in a heartfelt post, writing, “Rest Ez 👑Ryan Only Jah Knws💔,” and continued, “My Younger Brother Ryan that many of u know and Love worldwide has made his Transition and is no longer here with us in the Flesh. Sleepless Days n Restless Nights Trying to make it make sense …💔.”

Tarrus described his brother as a “warrior” who lived life on his own terms. “He lived the life he loved and loved the life he lived,” Tarrus said, calling him “1 of 1” and asking for divine guidance to grant his brother “perfect peace.”

No cause of death has been disclosed.

While Ryan “Kush” Riley’s career didn’t reach the same level as his father or brother, he was determined to forge his own path in the music industry. “I want to be known as Kush Riley. I want to build my own brand,” he said in a 2019 interview with The Gleaner.

“Of course, I want to build on my father’s legacy but I want to do it my way. I won’t let the expectations of people dictate how I do this music thing. I understand myself and I’m delivering how I know I should because I know who I am and what I have to offer.”

Way too soon but what tomorrow may bring nobody don’t know,” while Wayne Wonder sent his support, saying, “Condolences to you my bro and the entire family 🙏🏾🙏🏾! Sleep Easy Youth 🕊️ 🕊️🕊️.”
