Detectives from Jamaica’s Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) conducted an operation in downtown Kingston, which resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of counterfeit goods.
The operation which happened on Barry Street, took place between 11 am and 3:45 pm on Wednesday, January 17.
Arrest and seizure
Reports are that during this operation, a man was taken into custody in connection with the seizure.
The enforcement action happened as law enforcers were conducting searches in the area.
They came across an establishment stocking a large quantity of Crocs footwear, suspected to be counterfeit. These items, with an estimated street value exceeding $100 million, were promptly seized by the authorities.
The identity of the detained individual remains undisclosed, with further investigations underway.
