Warrican’s four-wicket haul gives Barbados Pride command in West Indies Championship

In the West Indies Championship match between Barbados Pride and Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) on Friday, left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican showcased his prowess with a remarkable four-wicket haul.

Warrican’s splendid performance tilted the scales in favor of Barbados Pride as CCC found themselves struggling to keep up with the opposition.

Despite a resilient effort from CCC, led by veteran Jonathan Carter’s fifty, Barbados Pride’s dominance was evident as they enforced the follow-on on CCC. Warrican’s exceptional bowling display, coupled with Carter’s steady innings, ensured that Barbados Pride retained control over the proceedings.

Joshua Bishop’s heroics propel West Indies Academy to first innings lead

At Warner Park in Basseterre, the West Indies Academy secured a crucial first-innings lead against Leeward Islands Hurricanes, courtesy of an impressive performance by Joshua Bishop.

Bishop’s aggressive knock of 48, supported by Mbeki Joseph’s valuable contribution of 42, propelled the Academy to a significant lead of 40 runs.

In the encounter between West Indies Academy and Leeward Islands Hurricanes at St Kitts, Hurricanes faced an uphill battle as they struggled against the bowling attack of the Academy. Despite Mikyle Louis’s determined fifty, the Hurricanes found themselves on the back foot against the disciplined bowling performance of the Academy.

Unfortunately, the match between Trinidad and Tobago Red Force and Guyana Harpy Eagles at Conaree in St Kitts witnessed disruptions due to inclement weather for the second consecutive day. The unpredictable weather conditions posed challenges for both teams, impacting the progress of the match.
