The extended collaboration underscores the organizations’ dedication to supporting Jamaica’s athletes, coaches, and administrators, transcending the monetary value of the agreement. The primary goal is to foster the development of human capital and sports infrastructure, thereby positioning the nation for success in various international competitions, most notably the 2024 Olympic Games scheduled to be held in Paris.

“This five-year cash investment at a value of $75 million will fulfill that purpose and serve to build out the Olympic infrastructure in a substantive way, while facilitating talent in transitioning to the greatest stage, the Olympic stage, where aspirations in sport will be realized, as we at the JOA, engender in stakeholders, responsible citizenship in sport,” stated JOA President Christopher Samuda, highlighting the broader impact of the partnership beyond financial support.

Samuda further emphasized that the renewed five-year cash investment is designed to fulfill a broader purpose beyond financial support. It represents a pivotal step in advancing the Olympic infrastructure and facilitating the journey of talented athletes to the grandest stage of all – the Olympics.

Innovation in the delivery of sports

“The activations which will be carried out under this partnership will demonstrate innovation in the delivery of sports, specific skills in areas including education, coaching, business and commerce, governance and management, science and technology, as well as branding and marketing,” Samuda added, describing the multifaceted approach to enhancing Jamaica’s sports industry.

Gary Peart, SVL’s Executive Chairman, expressed confidence in the partnership’s ability to extend support to various sporting communities, fostering success.

“As we look ahead to the Paris 2024 Olympics and other international competitions, I am confident that Jamaica will continue to produce world-class athletes across various disciplines. We look forward to cheering them on, win, lose or draw,” said Peart. “With the combined support of Supreme Ventures and the Jamaica Olympic Association, I have no doubt that we will witness even more golden moments in the years to come.”

Peart further acknowledged the JOA’s vision and the progress made along the way, highlighting the exceptional journey both organizations have undertaken. SVL’s decision to renew their sponsorship, made approximately 18 months ago, reflects their belief in the positive impact of this collaboration.

A supportive initiative from McKayla Financial Services

“Since 2021, when we first signed a partnership agreement with the JOA, we’ve seen some big achievements in sports – our gymnasts earned commendations and medals in international competition, our senior netball team earned Commonwealth and World Championship medals, and our track stars continued their global dominance,” said Peart. “We believe our sponsorship played a part in creating these successes, and so we’re happy to be back on board once again with the JOA.”

Heather Goldson, SVL’s Chief Marketing Officer, also announced a supportive initiative from McKayla Financial Services, a microfinancing company under the Supreme Ventures umbrella. McKayla Financial Services will provide a competitive loan product for individuals interested in attending the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“Our micro loan comes with a discounted interest rate and flexible repayment options, which will be announced in the coming weeks,” said Goldson. “The loan product is being offered in partnership with Expressionz Travel, so in addition to the Olympic experience, you will also be experiencing the magic of Paris with a well-curated package that covers airfare, accommodation, and Schengen visa processing – all valued at US$3799 per person.”

This partnership extension marks the second collaboration between Supreme Ventures Limited and the Jamaica Olympic Association. The initial partnership, established in 2021, paved the way for this renewed agreement, demonstrating the positive outcomes and achievements in sports since its inception. SVL has played a pivotal role in the success of Jamaican athletes in various disciplines, and this renewed collaboration aims to continue that legacy.
