Fraser McConnell rockets to Swedish silver, extends RallyX podium pledge

Amid the pine‑lined gravel of northern Sweden, Fraser McConnell hammered home yet another statement of intent in the 2025 RallyX Series, bringing his streak of podium finishes to a glittering five with a hard‑earned second place on Saturday, June 28.

McConnell’s weekend with OMSE Racing began in measured domination. He swept through the qualifying heats with clinical precision, ranking second overall and slotting his Ford Supercar onto the front row of the grid beside teammates Casper Jansson (P1) and Oliver Eriksson (P3). The all‑OMSE front line hinted at fireworks to come—and the trio did not disappoint.

Early joker, late drama

When the lights flashed green in the final, McConnell launched into a blistering getaway, diving into the joker lap on the opening circuit—a strategic gambit designed to buy clear air. The ploy paid off: at the merge, he darted ahead of Eriksson, freeing him to hunt down race leader Jansson.

Lap after lap, the Jamaican carved away tenths of a second, his Fiesta sliding through Alvsbyn’s sweeping gravel turns with balletic poise. Yet on the decisive final tour Jansson peeled into his own joker, re‑emerging mere meters in front and successfully fending off McConnell to the flag. The result delivered a 1‑2‑3 sweep for OMSE, delighting a raucous Swedish crowd.

“A tough, clean battle”

“It was a tough, clean battle, exactly the kind of racing we want to bring to our fans,” McConnell reflected, helmet in hand and grin unmuted by the Swedish chill. “I’m proud of the entire team for locking out the podium and I’m looking forward to carrying this momentum into Denmark in August.”

McConnell’s relentless consistency keeps him firmly in the hunt for the RallyX crown as the series heads south for its next stop in Nysum, Denmark, on August 2‑3. With confidence surging and OMSE’s intra‑team harmony on display, the Jamaican star appears poised to turn podiums into victories when the championship resumes.
