CWI President Dr. Kishore Shallow anticipates economic windfall for the Caribbean with ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Dr. Kishore Shallow, President of Cricket West Indies (CWI), has expressed his excitement and optimism following the release of the fixtures for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

To generate over USD 300 million in direct economic impact for the Caribbean

The tournament is projected to generate over USD 300 million in direct economic impact for the Caribbean. Additionally, it is expected to reach a global audience of more than a billion viewers through television broadcasts, enhancing the Caribbean’s reputation as a sports and tourist destination.

Dr. Shallow highlighted the ripple effect that this event will create, including increased tourism, business opportunities, job creation, and improved overall quality of life for citizens. He reiterated CWI’s commitment to collaboration with international partners to ensure the success of the ICC T20 World Cup.
