In a tragic turn of events on a Thursday afternoon, a 17-year-old driver died while attempting to evade law enforcement, culminating in a horrifying crash into a Florida City residence.

A footage from Chopper 6 showed a crushed black sedan with a yellow tarp inside and a massive hole in the side of an apartment building

Details of the incident

Reports are that the tragic sequence of events commenced approximately ten blocks north of the crash site when officers from the Miami-Dade Police’s Robbery Intervention Detail (RID) initiated an attempt to stop the young driver for a traffic-related violation.

It is reported that an RID officer approached the vehicle, seeking to intervene, but was met with resistance as the driver forcibly slammed the car door onto the officer’s hand before making a swift escape.

In his escape, the driver careened into another woman’s vehicle.

Reports are that the driver hastily turned onto Southwest 336th Street, hurtling westward with an utter lack of control.

Police said the driver crashed through a fence and then slammed into the building.

Police further reported that the car catapulted through the air.

During this chaotic moment, a firearm equipped with a high-capacity magazine was ejected from the vehicle, with bullets flying in different directions.

The young driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the police, the car he was driving was a rental, and the gun had been reported stolen out of northeast Miami-Dade.
