Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea is preparing to release a new eight-track EP, Catalyst, featuring collaborations with dancehall veteran Vybz Kartel, Nigerian Afrobeats artist Asake and American rapper Loe Shimmy.
The project is scheduled for release on Friday, Nov. 6, marking Shenseea's first major body of work since her Grammy-nominated sophomore album, Never Gets Late Here, released in May 2024.
Shenseea announced the project on social media on Monday, Nov. 2, sharing its title, cover artwork and tracklist with fans.
The eight-song collection includes "Playtime" featuring Asake, "Talk To Me Nuh" featuring Kartel and "Private" featuring Loe Shimmy. The remaining tracks are "Vulnerability," "Danger," "Garden," "Body Language" and "2 Face Gyal."
The reunion with Kartel is among the project's notable collaborations, bringing the two Jamaican artistes together again nearly a decade after their 2016 hit "Loodi," which helped introduce Shenseea to a wider dancehall audience.
The pair also collaborated earlier this year on "Talk To Me Nuh," produced by Rvssian, which will feature on the upcoming EP.
Asake's appearance adds an Afrobeats connection to the project, bringing together two artistes representing influential contemporary music scenes in Jamaica and Nigeria. Meanwhile, Loe Shimmy's contribution introduces an American hip-hop element.
Shenseea has already given fans a preview of the collection through "Vulnerability," which was released as a single in September. She has also teased "Garden" ahead of the EP's arrival.
Catalyst follows Shenseea's debut album, ALPHA, released in 2022, and Never Gets Late Here, which earned a nomination for Best Reggae Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
The upcoming release also marks her first major project under Since '93 and Columbia Records, following her signing with the labels in 2025.
With three guest appearances across eight tracks, Catalyst brings together dancehall, Afrobeats and contemporary hip-hop influences as Shenseea continues to expand her international musical reach.
