Miramar’s upcoming BizFit 2023: A boon for small businesses

The City of Miramar’s Economic Development & Housing Department is gearing up to host “BizFit 2023: Small Business Resource Fair.”

Presented by Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis, this pivotal event is set to unfold on September 7, 2023, at the Miramar Cultural Center.

Taking place between 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm, the gathering aims to be a nexus of opportunity and learning for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

A customized experience for small businesses

Tailored to the needs of the small business community, BizFit is an annual affair that serves as a resourceful platform.

Whether a person is a budding entrepreneur or a seasoned business owner, the event promises avenues to interface with local agencies, comprehend government bidding procedures, and gain insights from industry leaders.

More on small business in Florida

More than just a meetup

Beyond its formal agenda, BizFit 2023 offers additional perks for its attendees.

Participants can explore cutting-edge technologies, network with peers in the small business sector, and pick up essential pointers on starting a business.

Lending weight to the event are its sponsors, which include an impressive array of organizations such as America’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Plexus Technology Services, Urban League of Broward County, Credit360, SCORE, Easy Workforce Software, and New Day Consulting Systems.

Continuity amid challenges

According to Anita Fain-Taylor, the Director of Economic Development and Housing, the City of Miramar consistently remains a supportive environment for businesses.

Taylor shares that this commitment has been evident even during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic when BizFit continued virtually.

The City has been proactive in enhancing the local business ecosystem through initiatives like entrepreneurial workshops, financial literacy programs, and focused business development efforts.
