The expanded schedule begins Saturday, October 3, with a combined Junior Carnival and Pan Jamboree at the Tamarac Sports Complex. The free, family-friendly event will feature more than eight youth masquerade bands and at least four steelbands.
“2026 represents an opportunity for Miami Broward Carnival to evolve while remaining firmly rooted in our traditions,” Host Committee Chairwoman Joan Hinkson-Justin said.
“With deepened community partnerships and new experiences across Broward County, we are excited to welcome residents and visitors to celebrate the full spectrum of Caribbean culture.”
Carnival week will continue Friday, October 9, with the debut of the Red Road Fete at the Tamarac Village Amphitheatre. The new event is being produced by the City of Tamarac in partnership with Miami Broward One Carnival.
Celebrations then move to Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill on Saturday, October 10, for the Official J’ouvert.
More than 20 J’ouvert bands are expected to participate in the paint-and-powder celebration, which is hosted by Visit Lauderdale in partnership with the City of Lauderhill.
The festivities culminate Sunday, October 11, with the Miami Broward Carnival Day Parade & Fete at Central Broward Park.
More than 16 masquerade bands are expected to take part in the parade, showcasing elaborate costumes before the celebration transitions into a live concert featuring international Caribbean artists.
Carnival Sunday will also feature a Food Village and cultural vendors.
The annual celebration is one of South Florida’s major Caribbean cultural events and draws participants and visitors from across the region and Caribbean diaspora.
Organizers say the expansion is also intended to broaden the Carnival’s economic impact, with the festivities supporting local costume designers, artisans, food vendors, entertainers and other small businesses while generating activity for South Florida’s tourism and hospitality sectors.
The 2026 celebration comes as Miami Broward Carnival continues a tradition that dates back more than four decades in South Florida, where Caribbean immigrants established Carnival celebrations modeled on festivals throughout the region.
This year’s Junior Carnival and Pan Jamboree will be held at the Tamarac Sports Complex, while the October 9 Red Road Fete will take place at Tamarac Village Amphitheatre. J’ouvert and Carnival Sunday will both be held at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill.
