Jamaican dancehall artist Malie Donn has released his latest single, “Holiday,” accompanied by a poolside music video as he continues the rollout to his upcoming debut studio album, The Golden Child.

The 21-track album is scheduled for release Sept. 4 through VP Records.

“Holiday” is the first official single from the project and takes a lighter approach than some of Malie Donn’s previous work, pairing an upbeat dancehall rhythm with melodic vocals and a carefree summer theme.

The song is built around the idea of taking a break from everyday pressures and enjoying time with friends and loved ones.

“Everybody deserves a break sometimes. ‘Holiday’ is about enjoying life, creating memories, and forgetting the stress, even if it’s just for a moment,” Malie Donn said. “I wanted to make a song that people could feel good about wherever they are in the world.”

The release follows a series of singles that have helped establish Malie Donn as one of the emerging voices in contemporary dancehall, including “V6,” “Cups Up,” “Body Tea,” “7:00,” “Van Cleef” and “Dungeon.”

His music combines melodic delivery with trap-influenced production and traditional dancehall elements, reflecting the genre’s increasingly diverse sound.

The Golden Child will feature collaborations with Squash, Byron Messia, DJ Frass, Antuwang, Puppy (Rifle), Javo Donn, Rated R and DRXGZ.

The album follows Malie Donn’s 2024 LP The Grand Rising, which includes “7:00,” a fan favorite that has accumulated more than 7 million Spotify streams, according to the artist’s team.

Malie Donn broke through in 2023 with “V6,” which his team says was Jamaica’s most-streamed song on YouTube and Spotify that year.

His growing profile has also translated into awards recognition. In 2025, he won Best New Dancehall Artist at the Caribbean Music Awards and Best New Entertainer at the International Reggae & World Music Awards.

His Leak the Hard Drive EP featured collaborations with Govana, Byron Messia, Armanii and Jada Kingdom.

In May, Malie Donn performed to more than 6,000 fans at a sold-out show at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York, adding to his growing international profile.

With The Golden Child, the artist is entering what his team describes as a new chapter in his career, bringing together contemporary dancehall, melodic tracks and collaborations while expanding on the sound that has driven his rise.

“Holiday” is now available on streaming platforms, with its accompanying music video also released.
