Dancehall artist Kranium has added another major international milestone to his career, earning his second Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the United States.

According to the RIAA, Kranium’s 2016 single We Can, featuring Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, was certified Gold on June 29 after surpassing 500,000 certified units in combined sales and on-demand streams in the United States.

Released on September 23, 2016, through Atlantic Records, We Can was produced by Sak Pase and DJ Marley Waters. Nearly a decade after its release, the song has amassed more than 68 million streams on Spotify, making it Kranium’s fourth most-streamed track on the platform. Its official music video has also surpassed 33 million views on YouTube.

The certification marks Kranium’s second RIAA Gold plaque, following the success of his breakthrough hit Nobody Has To Know, which earned Gold status in September 2019 after also surpassing 500,000 certified units in the U.S. The Montego Bay-born entertainer is the first dancehall artiste to secure an RIAA Gold certification as a lead artist in 2026.

The latest recognition adds to We Can’s international achievements. The single was certified Gold in Canada in 2021 before later being upgraded to Platinum. In 2023, it also earned a Silver certification in the United Kingdom from the British Phonographic Industry after exceeding 200,000 units.

Reacting to the accomplishment, Kranium celebrated the moment with fans on Instagram. “I walk the way I walk because the numbers reflect that!! Another CERTIFIED GOLD IN AMERICA!! #history,” he wrote, while thanking supporters, disc jockeys, and producers Sak Pase and DJ Marley Waters, along with members of his team.

Since emerging on the international scene with Nobody Has To Know in 2013, Kranium has built a reputation for blending dancehall with R&B influences, earning collaborations with Tory Lanez, Ty Dolla $ign, WizKid, and Ed Sheeran.

The new certification comes as Kranium continues his A Slight Delay world tour. His next scheduled performance is on August 1 at the Reggae Land Festival in Milton Keynes, England, where he will share the stage with several leading reggae and dancehall acts.

With two RIAA Gold-certified singles and multiple international certifications now attached to his catalogue, Kranium continues to strengthen his position among Jamaica’s most commercially successful dancehall artistes.
