Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw scores as Manchester City prevails over Everton in FA Women's League Cup
In Liverpool, England, Reggae Girl Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw kicked off the new season in style, securing her first goal as Manchester City triumphed over Everton with a score of 2-1 in the FA Women's League Cup.
The 26-year-old Shaw played a pivotal role in this victory, with her goal in the second half helping City take control of the match. Despite Toni Duggan's injury-time header for Everton, it proved too little, too late.
Manchester City, a four-time champion in the competition, enjoyed a bright start, largely thanks to Shaw, who made her first start of the new campaign. In the early stages, goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan made a crucial save to deny Shaw, but it was Shaw's playmaking skills that set up City's opening goal in the 22nd minute.

Shaw exhibited her skill by maneuvering past Everton's captain, Megan Finnigan, on the right flank and delivering a precise cross into the box, allowing Jess Park to capitalize from close range at the back post.
Shaw's brilliance was on display once more just before halftime when she outmuscled three defenders, charging into the penalty area, only to be thwarted again by Brosnan's save.

However, Everton's fortunes took a turn for the worse after the break. A misjudged pass by Finnigan inside the 18-yard box presented Shaw with an opportunity, and she capitalized by unleashing a powerful shot into the roof of the net in the 48th minute.
Notably, Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw had been named City's Player of the Season in the previous campaign, having netted an impressive total of 31 goals across all competitions.
