The Jamaican police have charged a man with shop breaking and larceny in connection to a robbery of clothing and other items from a store in Portland. The goods were worth more than J$8.2 million.

Sashane Kennedy, 26, also known as ‘Hundred’ or ‘Six’, was charged on Tuesday. He is a construction worker from Hall’s Avenue in Portland.

His court date is to be finalized.

Police reports are that the store owner got a phone call at about 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 5, notifying her that her store on Williams Street had been broken into.

When she went to the store, she realized that clothing and shoes were stolen.

The police traced the stolen goods to Kennedy, who was arrested after several of the items were found in his possession.
