Issa Trust Foundation continues to transform lives in Jamaica

The Issa Trust Foundation has made significant strides in enriching the lives of many Jamaicans, raising approximately US$1 million (J$150 million) last year.

These funds have been pivotal in advancing various educational and healthcare initiatives across the island.

Harmonizing philanthropy and music

Chairman of the Foundation, Paul Issa, told JIS News that the foundation has been particularly adept at leveraging cultural events to fuel its fundraising efforts. Last year, it hosted two notable concerts in New York that featured prominent reggae artists.

These events not only celebrated Jamaican musical talent but also attracted considerable philanthropic support, accumulating around US$600,000.

Another event at the Sans Souci Resort in St. Mary with American singer Michael Bolton was equally successful, contributing an additional US$400,000 to the foundation’s cause.

Leadership and dedication at the helm

The effectiveness of these fundraisers can largely be attributed to the dynamic leadership within the foundation.

Paul Issa, and the Patron, Lady Allen, have been instrumental in steering the foundation towards its goals.

Lady Allen’s particular focus on meticulous planning and her passion for improving child health care underline her commitment to the foundation’s objectives.

A vision for health and education

The foundation’s efforts are not limited to fundraising. They are deeply integrated into tangible projects that address critical needs.

One such project is the Mary Issa Pediatric and Adolescent Health Centre in Runaway Bay, St. Ann, which focuses on delivering essential healthcare services to young children.

A united front for community development

Diane Pollard, CEO of the Issa Trust Foundation, commends the collective effort of all patrons and supporters, including House Speaker Juliet Holness.

Their united front exemplifies the foundation’s ethos of community, collaboration, and compassion, which are vital in driving sustainable change.

Founded in 2005 by Couples Resorts, the Issa Trust Foundation continues to be a beacon of hope and development for the people of Jamaica, dedicated to a mission of health promotion, education, and community improvement.
