Women with little or no health insurance in Broward County may obtain a free mammogram this Saturday,  From Broward Health and the Florida Department of Health in Broward County.  On September 17th, The organizations will host the screening event for women up to age 65 at the Lillian S. Wells Women’s Health Center, in Fort Lauderdale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Also on Saturday, September 17, the Jamaica Women of Florida will host its 4th annual Health and Wellness Forum titled “To Your Mental Health" The forum starts at 2 p.m. at the South Regional Broward College Library in Pembroke Pines. The conversation includes a panel discussion on emotional, psychological and physical wellness of women, as well as legal issues of  of guardianship, estate planning and elder care.

Today at 4:00 p.m. Miami City officials will host a ribbon cutting ceremony and tour of the newly constructed 10,800 thousand hundred, square foot West End Park Community Center. The new building includes a large multipurpose room, fitness center, computer room, classrooms, and storage.

Former West Indies cricketers Jeffrey Dujon and John Shepherd will top this year’s inductees into the Cricket Hall of Fame event in Connecticut. They will be joined by Saint Lucia’s Roselyn Emmanuel, Ivy Mahabir, and PK Guha. New York Public Schools Athletic League’s administrators, Lorna Austin and Bassett Thompson will also be honored for making outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the sport in the schools in New York.
