Polls are open across South Florida on Tuesday as voters cast ballots in Florida’s 2026 Primary Election.

Polling places across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties opened at 7 a.m. and will remain open until 7 p.m. Voters who are in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to cast their ballots.

Election officials are urging voters to confirm their assigned polling location and review other election information before heading to the polls.

Miami-Dade County

The Miami-Dade County Office of the Supervisor of Elections reminded voters that Tuesday, Aug. 18, is Election Day and encouraged eligible voters to participate.

Voters can check their assigned precinct and other election information through the Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections website.

Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia said voters should be prepared whether they are voting in person or returning a Vote-by-Mail ballot.

“Election Day is an important opportunity for every eligible voter to make their voice count,” Garcia said. “Whether voting in person or returning a Vote-by-Mail ballot, I encourage Miami-Dade voters to participate, be prepared, and take part in this important democratic process.”

Voters who still have Vote-by-Mail ballots may return them to the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections headquarters or the SOE branch office at the Stephen P. Clark Center by 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Vote-by-Mail ballots cannot be returned to polling places on Election Day.

Broward County

In Broward County, Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott urged voters to confirm their assigned polling location before heading to the polls.

“We encourage voters who choose to vote at their assigned precinct on Election Day to confirm their polling place by visiting BrowardVotes.gov. Voters who may still be holding on to their Vote-by-Mail ballots may return them to any one of our permanent branch offices by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day,” Scott said.

Voters must vote at their assigned polling location on Election Day.

They are also required to bring a current and valid photo identification that includes a signature. A voter information card is helpful but is not required to vote.

Vote-by-Mail ballots must be received by the Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. Tuesday. Postmarks do not count.

Broward County said preliminary election results will begin streaming at 7 p.m., with the first report expected to include Vote-by-Mail and Early Voting results. Election Day results will be added as polling-place totals are received.

Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County voters are also heading to the polls Tuesday, with Election Day polling places open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voters can verify their assigned polling location through the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections’ Precinct Finder.

Voters must bring a current and valid form of identification containing their photo and signature. Those without identification may still vote but will be required to cast a provisional ballot, which will be reviewed by the Canvassing Board to determine eligibility.

Voters who requested a Vote-by-Mail ballot can choose to vote in person instead. However, Vote-by-Mail ballots cannot be returned at an Election Day polling place.

Instead, voters may surrender their Vote-by-Mail ballot at their assigned polling place and vote using an Election Day ballot.

All Vote-by-Mail ballots must be received by the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections by 7 p.m. Tuesday, with ballots delivered to branch offices or secure ballot intake stations subject to earlier deadlines.

Florida voters across the three counties are being encouraged to make their voices heard as polling places remain open until 7 p.m.
