In a resolute effort to bolster community safety, Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis of Miramar has announced the commencement of the 4th Annual “Guns for Funds” Drive, aimed at removing firearms from the streets.
Since the program launched in 2013, hundreds of guns have been traded in.
Key details: Dates, times, and locations
The “Guns for Funds” Drive is scheduled for two Saturdays, namely, January 13, 2024, and January 20, 2024, with operations running from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at two distinct locations in Miramar, Florida.
- On Saturday, January 13th, the event will be hosted at Calvary Chapel, situated at 2951 SW 186th Avenue, Miramar, FL.
- On Saturday, January 20th, residents can participate at St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church, located at 2000 S. State Road 7, Miramar, FL.
Anonymity and security at the forefront
This community-driven initiative is open to the public, offering a discreet and secure avenue for individuals to dispose of unwanted firearms without any questions asked.
It operates as a 100% anonymous gun buyback program, eliminating the need for registration or paperwork. Participants can simply exchange their firearms for cash, with free gun locks also available to promote responsible firearm ownership.
Lucrative incentives await participants
Participants in the “Guns for Funds” drive will be rewarded for their commitment to community safety and responsible firearm disposal.
The incentives include up to $100 in gift cards for each handgun, up to $150 in gift cards for each semi-automatic rifle or shotgun, and up to $200 in gift cards for each rifle, providing a welcome financial boost after the holiday season.

“Community safety is a top priority, and the success of the ‘Guns for Funds’ drive demonstrates the commitment of our citizens to this cause. As we begin the New Year, we want to make sure that every home is safe, and unwanted firearms are securely and responsibly disposed of. I’m grateful for the collaboration of our partners, including Crime Stoppers, Broward League of Women Voters, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, as we work together to ensure a safer community for all,” she said.
