The festivities, part of the city’s official Miramar Day celebration, will take place at Shirley Branca Park, beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing into the evening with music, games, cultural showcases, and community pride on full display.

The celebration kicks off with a community motorcade along Miramar Parkway, followed by an afternoon filled with live entertainment, interactive activities for all ages, and a variety of performances that reflect the city’s cultural diversity.

“Miramar Day is more than just a festival—it’s a tribute to the journey, growth, and community spirit that have shaped our city over the past seven decades,” said Mayor Wayne M. Messam, encouraging residents and visitors alike to come out and take part in the historic celebration.

Founded in 1955, Miramar was originally developed as a suburban community for families working in the greater Miami area. What began as a small neighborhood with just a handful of homes has evolved into one of South Florida’s fastest-growing and most diverse cities, with thousands of Caribbean nationals calling the city home. Located in Broward County, Miramar is now home to over 135,000 residents and boasts a rich cultural mix, strong local economy, and dynamic arts and entertainment scene.

Over the decades, the city has transformed from farmland and empty lots into a thriving urban hub, attracting major businesses, educational institutions, and cultural landmarks. Today’s anniversary event not only celebrates that growth but also highlights the unity and resilience that have defined Miramar’s community spirit.
