The 2024 Primary Election is set to take place on Tuesday, August 20th, with voters across Broward County gearing up to cast their ballots.
Those who registered to vote by July 22, 2024, are eligible to participate in this critical election. Polling stations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, and voters are reminded to vote at their designated precincts. Election Day precincts can be found here.
To ensure a smooth voting experience, the Broward County Supervisor of Elections has issued several important reminders for the Primary Election:
- ID Requirements: Florida law mandates that voters present a valid photo ID with a signature at the polling place. A complete list of acceptable forms of identification is available on the BrowardVotes.Gov website. IDs must be current and cannot be expired.
- Vote-By-Mail Ballots: Voters who prefer to vote by mail can find drop-off locations on the BrowardVotes.Gov website.
- Polling Locations: While the voter information card is not required to vote, it is a useful resource for determining your polling location and districts. Voters who have recently moved must vote in their new home precinct.
- Provisional Ballots: Voters without the required ID will be asked to vote using a provisional ballot. These ballots are counted once the voter’s registration and eligibility are confirmed.
- Switching from Vote-By-Mail to In-Person Voting: Voters who requested a Vote-By-Mail ballot but decide to vote in person can bring the mail-in ballot to the polling place, where it will be canceled, and a new in-person ballot will be issued.
Election results, including those from Vote-By-Mail, Early Voting, and Election Day ballots, will begin streaming on the BrowardVotes.Gov website starting at 7:00 p.m. on election night. Results will be updated frequently until all precincts have reported.
