A 20-year-old machine operator from Trinidad and Tobago was arrested and charged with capital murder in Grenada.
Isreal Farrel has been remanded to His Majesty’s Prison following his court appearance.
Multiple charges including capital murder
He was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department in Grenada.
He stands accused of capital murder in connection to the death of Delvon Thomas, a resident of Carriacou.
A spate of criminal allegations
Apart from the capital murder charge, Farrel has been charged with four counts of attempted capital murder.
These charges stem from two separate shooting incidents that shook the communities of Mt Egmont and Woburn in St George.
These incidents, occurring on August 14 and November 20 of 2023, have also led to charges of illegal firearm and ammunition possession against Farrel.
Court proceedings and remand orders
Farrel appeared at the St George’s Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prisons.
His next court appearance is scheduled for December 19, 2023.
