In a recent address, Prime Minister Andrew Holness set an optimistic tone for the year ahead, declaring 2024 as a time of promise and possibility for the nation.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony for National Baking Company Limited’s impressive $6.7 billion Bread Plant project, held at the Hilton Hotel and Spa in Rose Hall, St. James, Prime Minister Holness outlined his vision for the country’s future.
A breakthrough year for Jamaica?
Prime Minister Holness began by expressing his heartfelt wishes for a “happy, peaceful, and prosperous new year.”
He believes that 2024 will be a breakthrough year for Jamaica, marked by peace, productivity, and prosperity.
Holness highlighted the interconnectedness of peace, productivity, and prosperity, emphasizing that they were not separate entities but part of a mutually reinforcing cycle.
Honoring an industry icon
During his address, Prime Minister Holness extended his congratulations to the Hendrickson family, particularly patriarch Karl Hendrickson, on their significant investment in National Baking Company Limited’s new Bread Plant.
He lauded Karl Hendrickson’s pivotal role in transforming bread production into a major industry in Jamaica.
Karl Hendrickson, who was also celebrating his 94th birthday, received special recognition for his remarkable contributions to national development.
Prime Minister Holness stated, “All of Jamaica owes you a debt of gratitude.”
