As Hurricane Franklin advances towards Bermuda, major airlines have canceled flights into the country.

Canadian and U.S. carriers suspend flights
Skyport officials have confirmed that not just United Airlines and American Airlines, but also Air Canada have canceled their scheduled flights between Toronto and Bermuda for Wednesday.
Skyport also encouraged passengers on other flights to stay updated on their flight statuses and consider rebooking options.
Details from the National Hurricane Center
The Miami-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) updated the status of Franklin in their 5:00 am bulletin.
It reported that the hurricane was situated approximately 205 miles west-northwest of Bermuda and with maximum sustained winds of 110 miles per hour.
A Tropical Storm Warning has gone in effect for Bermuda.

Franklin’s trajectory and expected impact
According to the NHC, Franklin is advancing northeast and is expected to continue on this path.
By Thursday, the hurricane is forecasted to turn toward the east-northeast. The hurricane’s center is expected to pass to the northwest of Bermuda later today.
Changing wind conditions and extended impact zones
The NHC noted that while the maximum sustained winds have lessened to 110 mph, they still contain higher gusts. The NHC forecasts additional weakening in the coming days.
The hurricane’s forceful winds extend outward up to 45 miles from the center, and tropical storm conditions reach up to 160 miles out.
Life-threatening surf and rip currents, a byproduct of Franklin’s force, are already having an impact on Bermuda as well as the eastern coast of the United States.
These conditions are expected to persist for several days.
