Dead is 33-year-old Sean Patterson, a personal trainer from West London in Britain.

Reports are that at about 11:45 a.m., Patterson was standing on the pool deck at the One Love Villa in Bogue Hill when a gunman approached him.

Reports are that the gunman chased Patterson and shot him several times.

The police were contacted, who found Patterson in a pool of blood.

He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It is reported that Patterson, who arrived in the island on a Virgin Airlines flight from London, England, on December 29, spent three days in a popular apartment complex in Freeport before booking a room at the One Love Villa in Bogue Hill.

Police say a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the murder.

He is 34 years old, said to be from Kingston, and was allegedly deported from England in 2013.
