The Soggy Dollar Bar claimed the coveted #1 position as the Best Caribbean Beach Bar, while Hendo’s Hideout and Poor Man’s Bar followed closely behind, securing the fourth and fifth spots in the same category. Additionally, the BVI’s historic Callwood Rum Distillery/Arundel Cane Rum was recognized as the fourth Best Caribbean Rum. This strong showing highlights the BVI’s appeal as a premier destination for both beach bars and rum enthusiasts.

“We are thrilled to have three of our iconic beach bars recognized among the best in the Caribbean, a region celebrated for its vibrant bar scene,” said Clive McCoy, Director of Tourism for the British Virgin Islands. “These establishments, along with their dedicated teams, have played a significant role in enhancing the BVI’s reputation by delivering exceptional experiences to our visitors.”

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) has earned additional recognition with its inclusion in The New York Times‘ “52 Places to Go in 2025” list. This honor, coupled with the top rankings of BVI bars in USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards 2025, further solidifies the territory’s status as a premier Caribbean destination for travelers.

The USA TODAY 10Best Awards, which receive around 5 million visitors each month on their platform, are determined through a two-step process that combines expert nominations with public voting. Experts in various fields, including travel, food, and entertainment, nominate the top contenders in each category. Once the nominations are made, the public is invited to vote for their favorites, helping to shape the final rankings. This blend of expert insight and public participation ensures that the awards reflect both professional standards and popular opinion.

McCoy expressed gratitude to voters, saying, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the readers who voted and continue to support our beloved islands.”
