Opportunities for Jamaican maritime students

Students in Jamaica keen on pursuing maritime careers are encouraged to seize this opportunity by applying for grants and scholarships offered by the foundation.

With grants averaging around US$1,000 and scholarships ranging from US$10,000 to US$25,000, the ACMF aims to support promising talents in the maritime sector.

Expanding reach across the Caribbean

The ACMF’s generosity extends beyond Jamaica, reaching students in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as The Bahamas.

The foundation’s scholars hail from various Caribbean nations, benefiting from its initiatives aimed at academic support, remote learning, and career opportunities.

Building maritime careers amid challenges

Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the ACMF remains steadfast in its mission to empower maritime students.

Initiatives such as providing laptops for remote studying, offering emergency grants, and facilitating internship opportunities reflect the foundation’s commitment to supporting aspiring seafarers.

Celebrating industry leadership

Through events like the annual Maritime Link-Up Webinar and the ACMF Anchor Awards, the foundation celebrates industry leaders and fosters collaboration within the maritime community.

Under the guidance of Rick Murrell, President and CEO of Saltchuk, the ACMF’s sea-time initiative equips cadets with essential training, paving the way for future success in maritime careers.
