June is Men’s Health Month: Broward County urges men to prioritize wellness

June marks Men’s Health Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about preventable health issues and promote early detection and treatment for men and boys.

Men are statistically less likely than women to visit a doctor regularly, and they’re more likely to ignore symptoms or delay treatment. As a result, men often face higher risks for chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and certain cancers.

As the month kicks off, Broward County is reminding residents that prioritizing health today can lead to a stronger, healthier future for individuals, families, and communities.

Men are encouraged to schedule routine check-ups, stay physically active, and seek support for both physical and mental health concerns. Local resources are readily available to help men take those important steps:
