The Florida Association of Women Law Enforcement Professionals (FAWLEP) is marking its second anniversary with initiatives focused on leadership development, mentorship and collaboration among law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.

Founded in October 2024 by Miami Gardens Police Chief Delma Noel-Pratt, North Miami Police Chief Cherise Gause and retired Miami-Dade Police Director Stephanie Daniels, the association provides a platform for professional development and collaboration among public safety professionals across ranks and disciplines.

“Our impact is not defined by one event or one program. It is reflected in the partnerships we build, the women we equip to lead and the communities we serve together,” said Noel-Pratt, FAWLEP president and co-founder.

“As we enter our third year, we are committed to opening more doors, strengthening collaboration across agencies and ensuring the next generation has both the opportunity and the support to succeed,” she added.

The association's 2026 initiatives included support for the Stronger Together Women's Leadership Event and participation in Broward College Institute of Public Safety's AI in Law Enforcement Symposium, which focused on innovation and responsible policing.

FAWLEP also recognized sworn officers, civilian professionals and community leaders at its inaugural Awards & Scholarship Brunch and hosted its first Family & Friends Cookout to bring members and their families together.

As part of its commitment to developing future public safety professionals, the association awarded three $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing careers related to public safety.

FAWLEP is inviting sworn and civilian law enforcement professionals, emerging leaders, retirees, students and community partners to join its network and support its leadership development, mentorship and community service initiatives.
