Today, the Caribbean salutes one of its most dynamic voices in soca music, Skinny Fabulous — as he celebrates another year of life, lyrical genius, and unstoppable energy.

The St. Vincent-born hitmaker, whose real name is Gamal Doyle, has become a staple in the Caribbean music scene and a beloved figure in the diaspora for his unmistakable voice, towering stage presence, and carnival anthems that ignite every feté.

From his breakout hit “Head Bad” to the chart-topping “Famalay” alongside Machel Montano and Bunji Garlin — a song that made history by topping the iTunes Reggae chart and winning Soca Song of the Year at the 2020 International Soca Awards — Skinny Fabulous has consistently pushed soca to new heights. He’s earned the title of St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Road March King multiple times, and his songwriting talent is just as respected, penning hits for some of the genre’s biggest stars.

In 2025, Skinny Fabulous continues to ride high. He’s fresh off an electrifying Carnival season, where his latest releases — including “Out and Bad” and “Mr. Monster” — dominated Caribbean playlists and festival routes from Port of Spain to Brooklyn. His performance at Trinidad Carnival 2025 was met with rave reviews, reminding fans exactly why he remains one of the most in-demand performers in the region.

Earlier this year, Skinny also announced a new collaborative EP in the works, teasing fans with studio clips and surprise features that hint at a genre-blending experience fusing soca with afrobeat, dancehall, and EDM influences.

More than just a performer, Skinny Fabulous is a cultural ambassador for St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He proudly reps “Vincy” on every stage, bringing regional pride to international audiences. His energy is infectious, his lyrics clever, and his commitment to uplifting Caribbean culture unwavering.

He’s also recently signed on as a brand ambassador for Caribbean carrier LIAT.

Whether he’s commanding massive crowds at fetes across the globe or dropping witty, crowd-pleasing punchlines in a freestyling session, Skinny Fabulous is always in his element. His ability to connect with people — to turn every performance into a shared celebration — is what sets him apart.

So today, we raise a glass, wave a rag, and send big birthday blessings to a true musical powerhouse.
