Spice turns up the heat with ‘Volcano’

As summer temperatures begin to climb, Spice is making sure the soundtrack for the season arrives right on cue.

The internationally acclaimed entertainer released her latest single, Volcano, on Friday. Released through Easy Star Records, the track serves as the first official single from Spice's forthcoming album and signals the start of what the artiste describes as a bold new chapter in her career.

Produced by Grammy-winning producer Antaeus alongside Spice herself, Volcano combines dancehall rhythms with international production, creating a record aimed at both Caribbean audiences and the global market.

Built around the catchy refrain, "My body hot like volcano," the song embraces themes of confidence, self-worth and unapologetic self-expression. For Spice, however, Volcano is more than another dancehall party track.

"Volcano is about passion, confidence and stepping fully into your power," she said. "I wanted the music and the visual to feel explosive, fearless and authentic to the energy that's been inside me this entire era."

The single continues a career-long pattern that has become synonymous with the artist, who is widely regarded as the Queen of Dancehall. Throughout more than two decades in the industry, Spice has built a reputation for creating music that celebrates individuality while remaining rooted in dancehall culture.

Over the last year, Spice has enjoyed a series of major milestones, building on the momentum of her critically acclaimed album Mirror 25, which celebrated her 25-year journey in music.

Her commercial achievements continue to place her among the most successful female artists in Jamaican music history. Her international hit Go Down Deh has generated more than 400 million streams worldwide, and she recently became the first Jamaican female artist with a lead single to surpass 300 million streams on Spotify.
