An article from blogTO highlights the restaurant for its signature jerk chicken to the much-lauded oxtail stew, noting that the family-operated restaurant has served as a gastronomic sanctuary for those seeking authentic Caribbean flavors.

A haven of culinary delight for decades

Having anchored itself on Queen Street West for 23 years, Pat’s Homestyle carved out a space where locals and visitors alike could savor Jamaican culinary classics.

This month, however, marks the end of this culinary journey, as the restaurant prepares to shut its doors on September 23rd.

Rooted in community and flavor

According to the article, the close-knit atmosphere and authentic dishes have created a loyal clientele over the years.

Regulars, like many others, reminisce about their late-night visits after evenings out, where the aromatic oxtail stew became a beloved comfort food.

The decision to close down was not a light one. The announcement, made on the restaurant’s Instagram, attributes the closure to the retirement of the owner, Patrick Bertram.

Patrick’s niece, Pam, shared insights into the decision, emphasizing Patrick’s desire to take a step back and cherish personal moments. The heartfelt Instagram post thanked patrons for their unwavering support, inviting them for a final few meals and a deserving farewell for Pat.

End of an era for Jamaican delights?

While the future of the iconic location remains uncertain, fans and followers are hoping that the legacy may continue. For now, patrons have until September 23rd to relish their favorite dishes, with doors open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., Tuesday to Saturday.
