A Milestone approaching: Two centuries of excellence

In 2024, the House of Angostura will celebrate a monumental 200-year anniversary.

Although globally recognized for its iconic ANGOSTURAⓇ aromatic bitters, crafted by founder Dr. Johann Siegert, rum has always played an integral role in its rich history.

Since kicking off rum production in 1948, the company said it has introduced a plethora of innovative lines, both locally and internationally.

It further said that the introduction of Old Oak Rum became a game-changer, boosting Angostura’s rum revenues beyond its famed bitters for the first time.

“To date, Old Oak Rum has evolved to more modern evolutions such as AngosturaⓇ White Oak and AngosturaⓇ Royal Oak. Angostura’s most recent international rum launch is AngosturaⓇ Tamboo Spiced Rum, which was inspired by the first ever rum produced by AngosturaⓇ, Siegert’s bouquet rum, and was named after the bamboo drum that set the beat of carnival on the streets of T&T from 1884,” it added.

Capturing the carnival spirit

The company shared that this recently introduced rum, with its fusion of Caribbean spices and golden rum, captures the effervescent spirit of the Carnival that Trinidadians cherish all year round.

By harmonizing British, Latin, and Portuguese influences, the company believes it has crafted a signature flavor profile.
