A Day Without a Woman has unfolded across the U.S. with strikes and rallies as organizers called on women to skip work and resist shopping to demonstrate their economic and political strength.
Across the country several rallies have been organized.
Women will be showing their mettle in the cities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, St Petersburg, New York; San Francisco; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Washington, D.C.; Raleigh; Portland, Oregon and others. Some colleges will also be staging walkouts and marches.
The Day Without A Woman protest has caused some amount of chaos for parents who have been left scrambling to find day care accommodation for their children after the majority of female teachers did not turn up for work.
On January 21, a day after President Donald Trump was sworn in, a Women’s March brought out millions of supporters to streets and squares around the world.
