Lauderhill Water Division to run routine annual chlorination tests

This Chlorination Procedure will begin on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 12 midnight and will end on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 12 midnight.

During this Chlorination Procedure, the city’s water quality will absolutely continue to meet ALL Federal, State and local standards for clean water and will remain safe for drinking, bathing, cooking, and other household purposes. Please note that during this time residents may observe a slight change in the taste, odor and/or color of your tap water. Do not be alarmed, the water is safe.

This Chlorination Procedure will affect residents served by the City of Lauderhill.  Residents who are on kidney dialysis or those who have other medical conditions should contact their health care providers for more information to determine if their treatment needs to be changed during this time period.  In addition, anyone who uses city water for fish tanks or aquariums must adjust their chlorine treatment levels during this water chlorination procedure period.

In addition, some customers may see water running from fire hydrants in their neighborhoods, which is part of the normal maintenance process.  If residents see temporary water discoloration, they should run the water in their faucets until the water runs clear.

For additional information, please contact the Utilities Department at (954) 730-2972 or (954) 730-4225.
